Fussy eater strange behaviour

Hi my DS (3.8) has always been more or less fussy with food, when his sister eats everything.
I know he is very sensitive to smells and he's funny about textures, but on 2 occasions he has actually become queasy at the sight of something that seemed to disgust him.
The first thing was vaseline (you know the ones that come in small round tins), where he actually became really pale and said "I feel wobbly" and thought he was going to be sick, but right as rain 10 minutes later.
And the second thing (today) was when I put a serving of tinned fruit cocktail in front of him.
Now I don't normally give him that but he had had some earlier today as a midmorning snack and ate it no problem.
He suddenly said "I'm not feeling very well" and asked me to hold him.
He thought he was going to be sick again but wasn't.
I sat him calmly on the sofa and asked him if he didn't like the fruit and he said "no I didn't like the grape in it".
When I came back into the kitchen I noticed that the grape had a bit of brown on it.
He gets very funny with brown food.
I am just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this with their child, I a bit worried it might be something sinister.
Also quite often when he doesn't like something he feels his tummy and says "mummy I'm cold, my tummy is cold".
Really confusing.

Not my DC's but I can't cope with the smell of vaseline. Something about it makes me very queasy. My DH used to use it alot for chapped lips and I had to make him wash his lips before coming to bed. Even if he turned the other way, I could smell it. FWIW, I'm ok with brand new vaseline, it is after a couple of weeks that the smell begins.

I can't help with the fruit cocktail problem though.

I'm pretty normal most of the time - my sense of smell is actually quite bad. It's just vaseline that has something wrong with it.
