Who knows what two year olds are thinking? DD1 kept coming out of bed to lie on spare bit of hall carpet we'd put down for a rug in her room. She'd bring her teddies down on the rug with her. Eventually we got the idea/gave in, and left duvet down there.

I'd leave him be. Pretend he's camping if that makes it easier for you. He'll go back to his bed when he's ready.

I remember very well my nephew had that problem and his parents finally figured out that he was too hot in his bed. Does he sleep with a pillow? Maybe put a mattress on the floor and a thin blanket?

I found my DS asleep a few times on the landing during the summer, he just got up during the night and brought all his blanket/pillow/teddies and just slept there on the floor. I still don't know why

I was just about to say what Blueberry said. I actually used to sleep on the floor when I was smaller, as it was cooler - but couldn't convey that to my parents at the time!
