Just wondering for the future, I think I had trouble with dd1 because I fed her with a spoon until she was over two. (caused by my issues not hers, but then she didn't want to do it herself)

DD started around 9 months .. amazing how much quicker the 2nd child learns to do stuff for themselves

ds started feeding himself finger foods around 7-8mths. He's rarely prepared to be spoonfed tbh, so we mainly don't bother with them (he's nearly a year old now).

as soon as they can hold a spoon. mess is all part of the fun. yogurt is a good first feeding themselves food
