DS1 asked to go to local swimming pool with friend via town, felt pressurised to let him go but have a horrible feeling in stomach.... is this the " letting go " phase ? ! (confused)

Of course you do have to let go sometime. You have to prepare them so they can cope without you being there. I didn't let DS1 go to town without me until he was 13 and then I took him and picked him up at prearranged time.

One of the things that was tricky at first was making him keep in touch. He would have his phone but wouldn't answer texts and wouldn't think to let me know if he was running late.
