Potty trained toddler trying not to pee

My (almost) 3 year old has been potty trained for over 6 months now and has done really well so far. However in the last week she has decided she won't go for a wee until she is literally bursting..

She obviously needs to go as she jigs about and wriggles in her seat but absolutely refuses to go when anyone says do you want to go and gets quite angry when asked.

Sometimes she doesn't even try to get to the toilet now and most concerning is that she behaves so terribly when she needs to go - gets aggressive and easily upset and generally very difficult... not easy to deal with when she hangs on for hours sometimes - today she obviously needed to go around 11am and didn't actually go until almost 3pm when she wet herself!

Does anyone have any similar experiences/ suggestions?

Ive had problems with my daughter 2.5 been potty trained since 2 with no problems. She is holding it in to the point of bursting or going and having a trickle. I know from my other daughters this is normally a sign of a water infection so went to gp on tue. They done water test and clear. I am at a loss now. Doc said sometimes if they are run down with flu this can affect them. I would go to surgery and ask for water bottle and an appointment. I got mine the same day and they tested it at GP's. When my other daughter had a water infection she would hold it in because it hurts to pee and when she did go it was just a trickle. Have you checked her nether region to see if any inflamation or redness. Its better to get it checked as if its a water infection it can make her really poorly if left :)

Thank you yes I will get her checked. She doesn't seem in any pain though when she does go though today has been saying she's very thirsty which could maybe be a sign?

She seems generally uncomfortable down there (fidgety etc) and has been saying she feels hot... I haven't checked her temp but will do. I hadn't even thought of water infection so thanks for the suggestion!

Hope you find an answer for your little one too.
