My 6 month old DD is mainly on breastmilk but in the morning she has a tiny bowl of banana porridge and then b4 bed she has a tiny bit of ellas kitchen... have tried her on the meaty ones but she doesnt like them. We have started giving her a bit of banana in the afternooon aswell should she be eating a whole one or just abit?
Im not sure how much she should be eating ....? Do i give her a bigger bowl full and should she be eating a whole banana? Help would be greatly appreciated... very confused at the mo!

not an expert but just kickstarting things. As i remember you build up to three meals a day quite quickjly, within the first 2 weeks, but you don't worry too much about amounts, just offer it and they will have what they want. Good at self regulating at this age. My boy had a massive appetite but was always a healthy size, but then if they're not eating much you don't worry too much, so long as you are offering it.

I wouldn't worry - first of all a whole banana is way too much for a little baby's tum - can bung them up. Just let her play with the food andget to know tastes etc. It's for fun at first anyway.

My DS didn't get properly onto three meals until he was 9 months old. We did a mix of BLW and mashed food and only used pouches if desperate (you should taste them - they're pretty minging!!!)

Agree with Iggly - just let her play: it's feeding curiosity at this stage, not feeding hunger. Let her eat as much or little as she likes.
