5 & 6 year olds driving me nuts with silly noises!

is it normal? they talk in made up language constantly and often pretend to be japanese when they are doing their kung fu kicks. i keep telling them to talk properly but am getting nowhere.

is it normal for them to be making silly noises at this age? none of their friends seem to. if anyone can tell me how to stop them i will be very grateful!

Put ear plugs in or join in with a few kicks of your own this will freak them out

ds started this, imitating 'Stitch'. It drove me mad. Dd started it, and she has excellent speech. Trouble is, ds has language probelms and this just made things much worse!

So we had to 'ban' 'Stitch' and tell him that 'Stitch' stayed at home!

Oh yes, it's only this thread that made me remember the constant car noises, & various other constant silly noises that really wound up his older sister so he carried on for longer!

Can't remember when it stopped, but he's 10 now & it was some time ago

oh well, was hoping everyone would tell me it was abnormal and there was a really easy way to stop them doing it. only another 3 or 4 years to go. ds3 will be about the right age to start then

Oh thank goodness someone elses child does it as well. The Japanese, American or somemade up language has been driving me mad. He started to copy everything we say at one point, but we started doing it back to him and it made him cryso he's stopped that now. ds does have hfa so I did wonder if it was the autism that made him do the language thing but now I now hes just like everyone else

mine does it too getting less and less now my Dh says he sounds more like a leaky balloon now but it used to be american accents
