Biting 3 year old - any pointers ?

My dd, just 3, has always had a biting problem, but I thought that we had come out of this phase (it did last a long time). In the past few weeks the biting has come back, which I find shocking especially as she knows not to bite and knows it is never acceptable. I am a single mum with a 10 month old too, but I always spend time with each when I can, and nothing obvious has triggered the return to biting apart from her birthday a few weeks ago. I have tried all the usual things - talking to her, time out, getting her daddy to talk to her, but nothing is working. Has anyone had the same problem, if so, how did you get over it. Please let me know if you have any further ideas for me. I am desperate and embarrassed !
