I have a lovely, normally sweet natured four year old ds who has turned into a little beast over hte last year - he screams and shouts if you ask him to get dressed, or eat, and just gives me orders in a really rude tone of voice. He gets worse with grandparents around - this morning he was such a little monster I came away and ended up cryin gquietely to myself. HE never went through the terible twos and was a really happy baby. What on earth is happening? Hehas quite an early bed time (7pm) and I try to make sure he eats properly. Just am stuck/

4 year old boys have a surge of testosterone and also he's really starting to push boundaries. You need to be calm and consistent, using time out or the naughty step, whatever, and not letting him get away with this sort of behaviour. Also remember to praise him when he is good. Don't get upset by it, it's not that he's doing it to get at you, he's just being a 4 year old child. x

thank you! interesting about the testosterone surge. I am sometimes really taken aback by his aggression and wondered where it came form.
