Clash of the Titans- weaning and teething at the same time!

Hi, Just wondering if there are any pearls of wisdom out there regarding this.

DS (5 months) seems to have come to the milestones of needing solids and teething at the same time.

He would have still been up once at night for a feed and settled well, now up 2-3 times and finishing 8oz bottles - just started the baby rice yesterday.

Also I have resisted giving him a dummy at night to settle but have done so since his teeth have been bothering him - now having to get up in between feeds to replace it!!! Using teething gel and Calpol.

Not sure what I'm looking for from Mumsnetters - reassurance that it will end, encouragement or a bit of empathy!!! All welcome!

We found that Ds would take a mouthful then, as it hurt, refuse to try again. We countered this with Calpol or Nurofen half an hour before eating. Some babies do better with Calpol, some with Nurofen. DS hated Nurofen as he hates anything orange flavoured so we mixed it in his milk.
