DH and I both work from home quite a lot. which means various turn taking in doing the after-school shift - even though both of us are in the house. So today it's dh's turn to take them to after school activities (which makes it sound like they do something every day. they don't). They come home. Come up to my office and both put on a right old act about how they don;t want to go to riding/gymnastics. I decide to completely abdicate from any decision-making responsibility. "Daddy's in charge today. Ask him. I'm working." I had to repeat it about 5 times and they gave up.
so off they go. what's the next thing I hear? the three of them at the door ready to go to gym/riding. Both dds cheery as anything having not even raised the issue of staying at home.
I would say it's not fair. but it has to be the outcome of years of being soft so it's all my fault and probably is fair. damn.
