DD (3yrs) still cries when I leave the room

Hi,

my DD (almost 3yrs) always had the habit of crying as soon as I left the room. was aways thinking that this would get better when she gets older but it doesn't. it really starts doing my head in. as soon as I walk out of the room she is crying or comes running after me (whilst crying). I really can't leave the room she is in without causing a meltdown

somebody here with the same problem? any advice?

TIA.

Hi, I'm sure that this will get better when she gets older - can't imagine she'll be doing it at 7. My DD, nearly 4, is a bit the same - doesn't cry when I leave the room, but does always like to know where I'm going and when I'm coming back, and runs after me if I haven't explained clearly. Do you walk out of the room without telling your DD?
