Rolling over

Just out of interest, how long did it take your lo's to roll over. I think ds is desperately trying, but can't quite get on his side yet...well, he's managed to once, but i think it was a bit of a fluke really. He's 14 weeks old, so just wondered how long he's got to wait. He gets so frustrated bless him

well mine is now 1 and she only ever rolled over once when she was about 6 months old

Oooh. I hope he does. He puts so much effort into getting on his side

My dd was 11 weeks; one of our friend's little girls was 9 months old. They're all different, and there's no set time to do this stuff.

I know. Just interested

No help to you but mine were very late rollers ... thankfully!
DS didn't roll until the week before he crawled (at 10 months) but he had been sitting up since 6 months.
DD didn't roll until she was about 1. She could sit up from 6 months and bumshuffle from 10 months but I had to put her in a sitting position so she could move around.
I think they could do it ... just never worked out that they could.
Don't worry, your DS will ... and then WATCH OUT!!

Can't wait. Not that i'm wishing his life away, just looking forward to it. Smiling and laughing is enough to keep me happy for now. Was just interested to see what other peoples experiences are

Actually, for a while dd's early rolling was the bane of my life - she would roll over and over really quickly to get anywhere she wanted to right from the start; she could cover the length of a room in about 10 seconds flat. She was far more efficient at getting round by rolling that she ever was at crawling.

If he's on the move ... watch out

DS was 5mths old when he rolled from back to tummy, 7mths old when he rolled from tummy to back. He practiced for about a week and then gave up. Now at almost 13mths he has started to occasionally roll again but is working really hard at commando crawling with lots of frustration thrown in for good measure. He started trying to get up on his side at about 12 weeks so is just one of those children who takes a bit of practice before perfect.

Ds2 rolled over from his back to his front last week he was only 13wks.
Not sure if it was a fluke really

My DD1 never rolled over at all, i'm sure it was only about a year ago when she first did (now 2.5 yrs) however DD2 is now 6.5 months and 1st rolled over at about 10 weeks, she started crawling commando style at 5 months.
