Six months and still not rolling?

Please come and reassure me that it's perfectly normal not to be rolling at this age... the various emails saying "Now your baby is 6 months old" all seem to say that your baby will be rolling over in both directions by now, but mine's not.

On the other hand he is sitting up unsupported for short periods which I know not all babies are at this stage. He's not making any efforts to move around at all yet.

I should be grateful that he's still immobile, shouldn't I? In another few months I'll have to chase after him everywhere, I know...

Mine's 5.5 months and he only rolls accidentally!

Don't worry about it Smile. Some roll, some don't. Both mine rolled about once and then didn't bother.

Yes, don't worry and don't compare- easy to say, harder to do! Some crawl/move at 7 months, some don't do it until nearer a year or beyond. Mine crawled/moved at 11 months, quite late but very normal.

Mine didn't roll until about 11 months, just sat there for months (bliss!) then had started walking by 12 months.

Mine didn't really roll until about a week after 6 months, then sat about a week after that, then crawled about two weeks after that. Then pulls herself up about two weeks after that.

All of our other baby friends had/have sat before her in terms of age, but she's caught up with bells on since then.

Actually I say all, there's one I know who was content to sit until after her first birthday, so don't panic. And don't feel pressured to keep up with the others. Just be glad he'll still be where you put him down when you come back in the room Smile

Mine didn't roll for ages - she just couldn't do it and showed little interest, she didn't walk until about 18 months either. Now nearly 4 and perfectly capable with gross and minor motor skills.
Have a word with your HV if you're worried, but it doesn't sound that abnormal to me.

PERFECTLY NORMAL!
Mine rolled at the grand age of 7.5 months in front of half my husbands family who were visiting...right after I had told them all he hadn't rolled yet [hmmm]
Please don't worry about it, I did and it was a right old waste of energy!

thanks! Ok, won't worry any more...
