Advice needed re toothbrushing in 11 month old

The problem is she insists on doing it herself and cries if you try to help. As a result she sort of chews the brush for as long as she is allowed to but clearly this is poor technique! What would you do?

She absolutely loves "brushing"her teeth

TIA

Blush

I haven't even thought about brushing 10mo DD's teeth yet

That's all BabyScout (aged 14 mos) really does/gets, too. But he only has two teeth fully in and two partially through. He does let me take the brush and swipe his teeth/gums with it but likes to help so not sure it's effective. Right now I'm just happy he's happy with the brush in his mouth and that he turns it over to chew on the bristles. I'm wondering when to introduce toothpaste....

Hi fliss and scout, I've been using very small amounts of baby toothpaste since she got teeth around 5 months.

She has several teeth now and they've grown a good bit which is why I'm worrying about plaque building up. Like you scout I've not pushed the issue as view it as more important in the longer term that toothbrushing doesn't go from being lots of fun and highly desirable activity to being associated with fights!!
