8 year old DD keeps er... fiddling with her bits

Is this normal? She shoves her hand down her knickers and touches herself on a very regular basis. Even when out in public. I ask her very firmly to not do it in public, and that it's perfectly all right to do in private. I don't want her to think it's bad and don't want to get cross. But to be honest I'm getting a bit fed up with it.
Anyone else any experience of this?

I think its normal, and you are saying the right thing. Have you ruled out any infections?

Hmm not sure about infections. She says it's not itchy, but I probably should have a quick look.

How is her banjo hygiene? My soapdodger grubby 9.8 DD was complaining of having an itchy banjo. It turned out, she wasn't actually getting in there and washing it, just splashing water on the front. Once she gave it a good fettle she was more comfortable.
