Night time routine

Can anyone advise when it is best to put a night time routine in place for my DS. He is 5 weeks old and currently has 5oz at around the following times - 6-7am, 10-11am, 2-3pm, 6-7pm, 10-11pm, 2-3am. He is downstairs with us till the 10pm feed when we go up to bed at the moment but at what point should we start to settle him upstairs at the 7pm feed? He sleeps in our room and I am also wondering when I should move him into his nursery?

I started putting dd into bed at 7 when she was about six weeks old, but lots of people would feel this is too early. We did bath bottle and bed and she didn't come out of our room until morning, even if she woke between seven and her 10:30 feed. We put her into her own room at about 14 weeks but guidelines say six months so again it really is up to you, do whatever you feel comfortable with, with those feeding times it looks like he is a very good baby indeed and if you want to keep him with you in the evening for cuddles then do it! IMHO the earlier you get them into a bedtime routine the better

They recommend them being in with you until 6 months, to prevent sids. Re bedtime routine, it's completely up to you. I think we started at about 10 weeks as DS was starting to get disturbed by the light and tv etc and needed dark and quiet to get to sleep, but I have some friends who don't do it yet and their DS is 5 months - so whatever works for you and your family. There's no hard and fast rule :)
