How much milk

Should a toddler be having on a daily basis? My Toddler is 18 months and refuses to drink water, he only seems to like his Growing up milk.

I'm concerned he's having too much as his stools are very watery and I would have thought they'd be more solid now.

I make up a 210ml bottle in the morning, he has half of it in his Readybrek and will drink the rest a couple of hours later. Then around 6pm he has 150mls and then just before bed he'll have another 210ml. Is this far too much?

sounds ok to me!

personally i would be giving cows milk rather than growing up milk. but you know, milk in general is good for them so i wouldn't be worried

That sounds about the amount that DS has and he is 2.5 - but he has cows milk.

from 1 year the recommended minimum is 350mls (approx 12oz) so you could look to cut some of the milk out (if you wanted to)

Thanks everyone, but is it normal for him to still have watery poos at his age?

Also Alibaba, do you give your son Full fat or Semi Skimmed Cow's milk?

How watery is watery? Really hard to say but if you are concerned then I would take him along to the GP.
DS eats tons of fruit so his can still be somewhat lose.

I give him full fat. He does have semi-skimmed occasionally if we run out of full-fat, but he knows that the 'blue milk' is his Grin

Thanks,

To be honest, We've not taken him to the clinic to be weighed for about 3 months. Will try to go next week so I can speak to H.V

full fat cows milk is recommended till age 2 and then you can give semi-skimmed if you want to.
