Dyspraxia - Yoropen

I went to sign DD's IEP last week and the SENCO mentioned that she is getting DD to see how she gets on with a yoropen We bought a couple for home from Smiths and I'm quite impressed with them - very comfortable to hold. DD hasn't had a chance to use it yet so I can't say how she writes with it yet but she immediately recognised it as her pen that she uses in school and said it makes writing easier. Posting it up as I thought it might be of some interest to those of you who have children struggling with writing.

we got daughter a yoro pen to help with her handwriting.. they're good aren't they.. funnily enough she's being assessed for dyspraxia...
is you dd left handed?
another pen we found was the stabilo... it has the groves in the pen it encourage a good tripod grip, they do it for left handed pens as well...

DD has had various pens and grips but the difference with the yoropen from what I can see is that the nib sticks out in front so the pen doesn't hide the writing and they don't hunch over so much to see what they do. At least I think that's what the SENCO was trying to demonstrate ! My DD isn't left handed but I can see why they would be good if you are - well worth £3 I think.

Kittypickle, I just wanted to say thanks for your recommendation. I got a yoropen for DS who really struggles with writing. He tried it today and in his words it's 'cool'. He found it much easier to write with and now all his friends want one.
I think I'm going to buy a few more 'cos I like it as well!
