Things I didn;t know about babies part 1 - farts!

I had no idea babies farted or that their farts stank so much - or is it just mine (2 weeks old)? She doesn't really burp or vomit so I guess it has to come out one end or the other.

Yeah. Babies' farts smell of fart. Disappointing, huh?

Their breath smells of rainbows and puppies and custard creams though.

mine never had smelly farts! except ds2 who had a milk/egg intolerance

but none of mine burped much, just did massive farts

Farts weren't smelly but they were aplenty! DS has milk intolerance, hence the wind.

My DD used to fart away to herself in her moses basket when she was little.

Still trumps now (4 years old!)

And they sound so loud when they are in a car seat out at someones house.

Oh yes, our wee on'es stank from a young age (weeks old). Now they get more and more pungent as she approaches her regular 2 or 3 day poo! Clearly she takes after my OH in this regard.

I was surprised at how low in pitch they were I mean...babies are tiny! Surely their delicate pumps should be high and squeaky an cute....

God, mine's really linger!

Dd did humungous trumps when we were still in hospital.
I'm sure the other new mothers on the ward thought it was me letting rip.

Yes, that's just reminded me that some other baby's Dad commented on how loud and impressive my 3 day old baby girls pumps were....

my LO farts and laughs - i think it tickles her bum lol.. shes 9months
