Teething - canines first?

My ds is 8 mths and seems to have been teething for months. The odd thing is that it seems to be his lower canines that are coming through. It has always been that area that is red and tonight I noticed the white of a tooth (I think).

Has anyone else had teeth coming through in a different order from the norm?

my first DS had textbook teeth, came through in the 'right' order. My second DS teeth were completely different! front four teeth didn't come through for quiet a few months after his canines??(sharp ones that look like vampire teeth!lol). My dentist was happy with second DS teeth, as long as they weren't causing too much pain.
I use ambesol on my DS gums as doesn't slide off finger like the gels x

Thanks mummymash. I have an older ds and dd and they had textbook teeth too. Did your ds look a bit odd for a while? I have visions of my lo looking like a vampire Grin

My DD has had an odd order. Started teething early but didn't cut her first tooth til 13mo. First was one bottom middle, then her top two canines, she stayed like this for about a month then the top two middles came in, she had an amazing (and odd) smile for that month. She's 18mo and has 10 teeth 4 top middle, 4 bottom middle and one molar top each side.

I will keep you updated on my ds' order. Glad to hear that there are some others out there.

Well first tooth poking through on the bottom as normal. No fangs Grin

Sides are still red though so will keep an eye on them.
