so i have 17 month old twins who sleep around 11 hours at night and have 1 nap in the day which is maybe just over an hour, making about 12 hours sleep per day in total. My problem is they increasingly dont seem tired at what was usually their bedtime (it was 7.30pm a couple of months ago and fairly easy and has crept back later and later, now 8.30 to 9pm and its a real battle)

they have also a few times now just not had a nap all day and then bedtimes are sooo much easier, out like a light at 7pm) is 17 months too young to go without a daytime nap or could it be that napping is phasing out???

any comments on what is typical for this age would be really helpful.

My DD is 21mo and she sleeps 12 hours a night, plus a nap of one to one and a half hours in the day. She always is happy to go to bed and goes to sleep straight away. If she doesn't get her sleep she is grumpy and horrible.

But I think they are all different! Her cousin, the same age, sleeps about 13 hours a night and has no daytime sleep at all.

DS is 19 months old. He sleeps about 11 hours at night and has a 1.5-2 hour nap in the afternoon.

DD, on the other hand, had completely dropped all daytime naps at 18 months. On days when she napped, she would wake up for the day at 5-6 AM, which we couldn't live with, so out went the naps.
