ds has a rabbit and a dummy, he is nearly 8 months

waterfalls · 29/09/2005 21:25

Ds still has a botle at night, he is 4.7

Dts have each other

jamiesam · 29/09/2005 21:26

ds's (4 and 2.2) have enormous blankies. I believe they were not grey once.

singyswife · 29/09/2005 21:27

MY dd1 (4.5) has a doll called Molly. She has had it since birth and my DD2(2.5) has a doll called Daisy. Neither will sleep without them. Dont see the problem with them myself.

starlover · 29/09/2005 21:27

no-one has said they have a problem have theY?

fastasleep · 29/09/2005 21:28

DS has a teddy who he's never slept without (except the odd terrible night when he was still wet from washing) he's 18 months and adores teddy

I have DH, although I think I got the fuzzy end of the lolly, he's stinky and he snores and sometimes he drools on my shoulder... teddies don't do that!

LIZS · 29/09/2005 21:29

dd (4) has Teddy who is on his 2nd dress !

Roxswood · 29/09/2005 21:29

My dd and my dh both love my breasts

lucykate · 29/09/2005 21:30

i don't have a problem with them at all, i'm just being nosey!. and wanted to see if anyone elses children had silly names for their's. we call dd's cuddle cloth snuggy, but she has always called it 'nopoo'!, no idea where she got that one from!

I think it's only a problem when they wail like the world's ending if they catch sight of them in the wash... DS just goes 'OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH' and points at teddy going round and round and won't be pulled away for the whole wash lol

Or if you lose them... oh god, what on earth would happen if he lost teddy?!

fastasleep · 29/09/2005 21:31

Anyone see the 'stinkypinky' thread? That's got to be the best toy name

starlover · 29/09/2005 21:32

i keep meaning to get a couple more rabbits for ds

LIZS · 29/09/2005 21:32

We have a spare . Have managed to avoid her taking it to school fortunately - he keeps me company in the car.

singyswife · 29/09/2005 21:33

Sorry was just passing comment that I personally didnt have a problem with them.. Didnt mean to upset anyone. I know people can be funny about dunnies etc so I was just saying that I think they are okay if they work for the child. SORRY SORRY SORRY SORRY!!!!

starlover · 29/09/2005 21:34

it's ok, i figured straight after i posted that that i may have totally misconstrued it! so apologies back!

fastasleep · 29/09/2005 21:34

Aww how cute!

I took 'Sammy the seal' to school she wore a homemade dress and a bonnet... Rainbow Bunny was my real fave but she stayed at home as she was too 'precious'...dear god !

lucykate · 29/09/2005 21:35

we had 2 'nopoo's' originally but old childminder lost one. the one we've still got is now hanging in there just about. i got it from hennes about 3 yrs ago, its a small white velvet cloth with an elephants head at the top. went to every branch of hennes at the time to see if i could track down another, never seen one in there since.

Still giggling at nopoo!

singyswife · 29/09/2005 21:38

We have lost both our DD dolls at some point. I have made a mad trek on a Saturday afternoon (about 40 miles or so) to get a new one for DD1 and was in town at 8.45 one Saturday morning for DD2/ Fortunetely the original dolls have eventaully turned up and I now have spares.

lucykate · 29/09/2005 21:41

its very embarressing when she's upset and whails in asda 'i want nopoo', everyone turns round waiting to find out what nopoo actually is!

DD used to have a dummy up until 6 months ago and she used to love a crib blanket. She liked the label on it and used to fold it and rub it between her fingers to go to sleep. I had to tie the label end in to a knot so she could find the label in the night.

Dh thought it was silly and was convinced that I was making her have "a thing" that she would be fond of as she's not one for teddy bears and things like that. So he hid them out of the way and she hasn't had it since.

She just uses the labels on her bed sheets now

Angeliz · 29/09/2005 21:44

dd2 (7 months) has a dummy.

dd1 aged 4, i'm not telling as you'll all slate me...........o.k, she has a dummy at bedtime and only at bedtime

She just loves it and got very distressed when we wrapped it up to put away so it came out again. She loves it, bless!

fastasleep · 29/09/2005 21:48

Lol my mum had a dummy until she was about 4, then her mum (in an act of evil rage) threw the dummy and the spare on the fire!! It was like the worst memory ever from childhood, they had to restrain her from shoving her hands in to try and save the meltling 'noonoo's' (she still talks about this, she's 57 lol).... leave your dd to grow out of it I say!

kid · 29/09/2005 21:55

DD (6) has a big purple teddy, a medium sized panda bear and a little dog, there is hardly any room left for her in the bed!

DS (3) has a Power Rangers card that he got for his birthday last year! He recently found it in DD's desk and has since slept with it under his pillow. When he wakes up early in the morning, he will bring it with him and climb into my bed!
