My dd is having tantrums and squealing. How should I deal with them?

I have her in a creche for an hour a week, and I have been told by the staff that she gets really angry that I have left her.

I just wonder why, as she is normally so happy.

Calmriver - my ds2 is 20 months and has just started squealing when things don't go his way. Other than that, no advice, I'm afraid, just a sympathetic ear

cant really offer advice but my dd has real tempur tantrums when i wont let her get her own way, she headbuts things and screams, all i can do is treat it as any other naughty behavior, cant really help with the nursery situation tho!

hi there, my dd had temper tantrums starting age 11 months. I would try to use my voice to calm her down, repeating the same phrases "calm down, clam down, no screaming, no shouting.... etc etc" using the gentlest possible tone of voice. Like a mantra. She still uses these phrases now. I would also hold her in a cuddle and try and get her to breathe more slowly by mimicking me.

I am not sure "angry" is a helpful way of describing her reaction when you leave her; is this not just normal separation anxiety? Ask the staff how long it lasts.

When leaving her at the creche explain to her whats happening. like 'you stay here and play with all these lovely toys whilst mummy pops out for a while and I'll be back before you know it'

Thanks guys.

I do explain to her my every move, but before I have even left, she is balling.

Just hoping it all passes soon.
