nothing at all to do with babies but i'm so stoked!

I passed my PhD thesis! (in English literature).
I can't believe it....just wanted to share. Wow. I can now call myself 'Dr Maslen' if I feel like it. Not that the 'doctor' thing is such a big deal. But still....I was SO SURE I would fail.
Maybe now dd (2.6) and I might have some hope of a decent standard of living. I have been part-time teaching at uni for the last year but as I am a single mum, we really need a fulltime income.
And if I get a job at the uni at which I took this degree, there is on-site childcare. Yay! I could visit her during the day!
Wish me luck guys, I am getting to work on my job applications and fellowship proposals tomorrow!

wow I'm impressed. Could never have taken my degree further like that, even before kids. What did you write about ?

Well done! How did you fit study in with a baby?

It's hard work working full time and then going home to look after a child. I have my dh around a lot of the time but it's very tiring when he's working nights as I get no help.

Good luck with the job. I'm sure you'll find it very rewarding.
