23 month old drinking tons of milk

I'm not sure if this is the right area, but bear with me. DD is 23 months, in about the last 3 weeks, since she had a bad cold, she was wanted to drink lots of warm milk. I've googled drinking too much milk, and the main issue seems to be constipation, which doesn't seem to be problem. However she doesn't seem to eating as well as she's drinking so much milk, she's probably on 5-6 sippy cups of whole milk a day. Is there anything else I should be worried about? Can it be a symptom of anything else?

Has she still got a cold? Will she drink water instead?

She still has a slight runny nose, but no real cold. She won't drink water or juice when she wants the milk, at other times she will drink water or juice, but when she wants warm milk nothing else will do

My DD is the same age and drinks quite a lot of milk: 500 - 600ml per day, on average. I've recently cut down all but the last night time bottle to semi-skimmed. This has increased her appetite for solid food. She'd live on milk if she could though, I'm sure!

I doubt its a symptom of anything, probably just comforting. Though cows milk is not great nutritionally, maybe as a drink once a day but not to replace a balanced diet of lots of different foods. Also has lots of natural sugar so not good for teeth.

I took my daughter, 2.3yrs, off her bottle just before 2yrs and now she hardly drinks milk at all whereas she would drink litres of the stuff before. No regrets though, I mean modern milk is so processed (homogenized, pasteurised), all the natural goodness is probably virtually eridicated.

Also, some people find cows milk increases mucus production so maybe not so good for her cold.

My dd was exactly the same, drank gallons of milk a day at that age. I used to water it down and she never noticed. She doesn't drink as much now but still enough.

Watering it down is a good idea. Before this cold 3 weeks ago, she had milk at bedtime and on cereal and that was about it. It's always from a sippy cup, she ditched the bottle at about aged 12 months, just refused to drink from it any more
