10 year old occasional bedwetter

My DS wet the bed last night. He came up to my bedroom at around 4am to say that his bed was wet, and it was really weird because he was dreaming and when he woke up it was wet. I told him it wasn't a big deal, and was calm and matter of fact about it. We have had several periods of bedwetting in the past, but I thought we were beyond it as the last time he wet the bed was probably nine months ago. I went through a stage of restricting his fluid intake in the evenings, but have relaxed over the past few months. In a way it would be easier to deal with if it happened more frequently. I have no idea what the trigger is for him. DH is away for a few days, which could be a factor, I suppose? Anyone with similar experiences?

Cheers

My older son really missed his dad when he went away on business. He wet the bed every now and then if there had been 'changes' in his routine ie: night before I went into hospital to have a c-section with ds2, night before starting senior school, night before first school ski trip alone. The last time he did it he was about 12 and it was completely random ... said he had been dreaming of weeing in the bathroom and woke up half way through soaked. It's very normal and as it's not happening frequently, I'm sure it will sort itself out. Restricting fluid after dinner is a good idea just in case Smile
