DD1 complaining her nipples hurt

Is 8 years old too young to start developing. My DD is saying her nipples hurt and feel bruised and they do feel a little 'lumpy and hard' (excuse the graphics).

What age do girls start to develop and should I take her to the doctor?

Only last night my DD age 9 said her boobs were sore and tender. It crossed my mind that there was a possibility she was starting to develop.
I dont think there is any need to take your DD to see doctor unless you feel it is a problem.

I took my dd to the doc when this happened age 9. She was starting to develop, she got her periods at age 9. The doc said development can start and stop, breasts might swell and hurt a little, then nothing more happens for a couple of years, depends on everything else.

my dd had this a while a go, it went away then the other one started and went away and so it continues. she's 9 and a half now and it started maybe 18 mnths ago

i started my periods at age 9/10 so it could happen, dont worry too much about it unless it really worries her, you might want to take her to the doctors so he can explain that theres nothing wrong and what might happen (you can do this if she is happy to believe you) i know i wasnt and mum took me to the doctors so i knew it was all ok!

Yep it sounds like she is right at the beginning of that wonderful time of change.

My dd started to noticeably "bud" as it were at age 9. She never complained of her nipples hurting though, although I wouldn't be surprised for there to be some sort of sensation.

I would say it sounds normal and doesn't need a visit to the docs.

she's not worried by it at all. She quite excited at the prospect of having boobs although I have told her that it may be a few years before they appear!

i started my periods at 10/11 so maybe she will follow. I hated it but I think ST have changed a lot since the bricks I had to wear!
