my boys can't stand each other, help!

ds1 is 9 and ds2 is 6 and they are constantly arguing.
ds1 has always seemed intent on putting ds2 down and getting one over on him and now ds2 is behaving in a similar way, i think he has just got sick of it and become equally as bad.
It's now happening at school aswell. One has stuck their tongue out as the other passed etc.
I just don't know what to do, everywhere i go i end up embarassed and every fun family outing is being spoilt.
help!

no seriously, deep down they will love each other, just they dont like to show it. i bet if either was in toruble then they would leap to the others defence.

My dss are the same age as yours and also spend most of the time squabbling. Ds1 winds up ds2. Ds2 gets frustrated and attacks physically. We all end up yelling and sulking.

I know that in fact they are incredibly close. If one is away at a friend's the other is like a lost puppy without him to play/argue with and they are actually good mates a lot of the time.

Do you think your two like/love each other deep down or is it a genuine case of hate?

bunny. know exactly how you feel! got ds's x3 (9,6,4).fight constantly,argue about everything,but protect each other to the hilt!! Friend told me a while ago (after i'd lost it big time)"remember they are going to fight,their brothers, try to ignore it unless the're hurting each other it's part of growing up". did help because it made me look at them differently and i know they will look after each other if needs be.Got a rule in my house now,"Only physical contact allowed must be affectionate".Made them laugh at first(kept making them kiss and cuddle)but it seems to be working!
