How old is he?

Dd had a big gap between hers when they first came through but as soon as the rest came through everything shifted about and she has completely normal, gap-free teeth now.

muddleduck · 07/12/2010 23:11

My gap closed.

When I was about 35 :)

Never bothered me though. I quite miss my gap.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 08/12/2010 08:38

Gaps are useful. DD has far too many teeth and in the last fortnight has had four extracted.

glassbaublescompletelybroken · 08/12/2010 08:40

My MIL would have called them "lucky teeth!"

lu9months · 08/12/2010 16:23

my baby is the same, a friend told me in france this would be lucky! I am just trying to forget about it!

wannabeglam · 08/12/2010 19:19

My children don't have gaps. Dentist said they might suffer from crowding with next teeth. So gaps are good.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 08/12/2010 19:22

My ds1 has gaps between his teeth, not massive but noticeble.

Our dentist said that it's a good thing as there'll be plenty of space for his adult teeth.

How old is your ds? Has he been to a dentist? Once they've got teeth any dentist will see them and probably be able to reassure you.

LynetteScavo · 08/12/2010 19:25

my gap closed, i had perfetct teeth during my teenage years, then my teeth went too far together. Angry

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 08/12/2010 19:32

I had a Madonna / Lauren Hutton style gap until I was 24. Then it went because of some gum shifting that apparently goes down in the late teenage years. I didn't miss it till it was gone Sad

Until then I was quite enamoured of Chaucer's Wife of Bath whose gap was indicative of sexual prowess it is said. Grin

Sorry totally off topic and inappropriate on a baby development thread. Grin Forgive me.

DS has this, he had to wait until he was 13 and is having a brace fitted next week. I think it looks cute!

panettoinydog · 08/12/2010 19:33

I like gaps. I'd like that.

Habbibu · 08/12/2010 19:33

My niece had this - now aged 5, it's hard to imagine the gap was ever there.

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 08/12/2010 19:38

Sorry he is 9 months :)
and I meant giggle! Sorry!! Sounds like its not a major issue then, bless him and his gap!

DD has a gap, she's 13 mo now. Once the teeth grow down more it becomes less noticable and the eeth either side seem to have close it a bit.

Beamur · 08/12/2010 20:51

My DD is nearly 4 and still has a gap. It looks cute.
That supermodel that David Walliams just married has a stonking gap and she's quite pretty....

CrispyTheCrisp · 08/12/2010 20:51

I had no room for mine and had 6 teeth extracted and now only have one canine tooth which makes me feel like i am lopsided Confused

Enjoy his unique little smile while it lasts Smile

booyhohoho · 08/12/2010 20:53

it will most likely close when hsi otehr teeth come through. plus, if it doesn't he will be a good singer Wink it's a win/win situation.

JimmyTarbuck · 08/12/2010 21:00

er ... check out my nickname. Aint nothing wrong with a gap-toothed grin (although mine has grown smaller with age). DD also looking like she might be getting the Tarby look too.

maxybrown · 08/12/2010 21:02

My DS still gappy too, he is 3.3 never notice ot now but he is quite gappy between all his teeth - nice teeth though!

WanderingInAWinterWonderland · 08/12/2010 21:07

My nephew had a gap in his teeth when he was tiny Xmas Grin sooo cute! My mum still has a gap in hers at 63, she says that it seemed huge when she was little. It's smaller now!
