because the bedtime antics just got ridiculous this week, bedtime 8 / 8.15 usually offto sleep by 8.45 after story, this week 10pm before she'd settle, up and down like a yoyo, playing every imaginary game in her world, upstairs and downstairs.
shes 3 the week after next, so i've just put the travel cot up and put her in it.
and the bizarre thing was she's still wake bang on 7.30!

I think they go through phases. I have 3 children (7, 41/2, 2) who go through weeks where they give me a hard time with bed but mostly are pretty good. I think you just have to persevere with the bed and stick to a routine. She must be reasonably smallish to sleep in a travel cot comfortably???

no shes too big/long for it
i gave her cot away.
shes slept both nights straightaway in it.
i agree with the phase theory u have. thanks

I would put her in her bed and tell her not to get up. Keep taking her back each time she comes down, dont start a conversation, just say firmly its bed time, give her a kiss and say goodnight. My ds did this for a couple of nights after going to bed quite happily. he stopped after I used this method. hard for the couple of nights, but worth it!
