cycle helmet for 18 month old

Does anyone use a cycle helmet for their 18 month old No matter how much I tighten / loosen the neck strap - the helmet can easily be slid over backwards so it sits on the back of the head rather than the top of the head. This would offer no protection if he fell off. Am I being un-realistic trying to find a helmet that fits an 18 mo head or are there any out there ?

i found that with my 3yr old she is really small for her age, she finds it v irritatin, and it keeps slipping off. halfords cycleshop does a really good range of helmets for infants, expensive though.

Dp got one for dd in an independant cycle shop. Its got adjustable plastic cage on the inside bit that can be made bigger and smaller IYSWIM and although the hemet itself is huge on dd the plastic straps fit her head and keep the helmet on. Think it cost £20.

Poppy, I have one I was just about to bin, you are welcome to have it. CAT me with your contacts and I'll post it to you if you like. BTW, it was bought in Denmark when we lived there and where children are virtually born on bicycles.
