Sticking his fingers down his throat?

My 17.5 month old has just started sticking his fingers down his throat until he gags!

Is this some sort of exploration? I've looked and can't see anything stuck there, he just seems to be doing it to do it!

Anyone ever had this? How soon will he get bored with it? It's making me a big queasy!

Mine did this from about 15 months. He grew out of it. I think it might be a habit. He now pulls his own hair and says 'ouch' and then does it again Hmm

I don't think it's reflux, although it might be, I guess.

We are going to the GP next week so maybe I'll ask her about it.

Thanks for your replies!

My DS does this. Has done since he was a toddler.
He made himself sick with it the other day and that seems to have stopped him Grin

Just sensation I think.

My Ds used to do it too - they do stop! Just kept saying to him DON'T do that you'll be...... achh too late! In supermarkets etc - just a bit of ...fun Hmm
