ok so my ds woke every half an hour to an hour last night..bascially everytime he lost his dummy.

So im tempted to bin the lot and go cold turkey.

If you have done this at a similar age, how did it go?

did it a few weeks ago for the same reason with a six monther. Replaced it with a muslin that he can suck and is quite adept at putting back in himself. Also, a muslin over the face isn't going to stop them breathing. First day/night awful, second one better, and so on. he now sucks his muslin like a stupid puppy and loves it! i actually tried a dummy last week in desperation to stop him crying and he wasn't in the slightest bit interested.

Although, must add my dh and I are quite good at ignoring a baby that's crying because it wants a dummy! Think he cried for 30 mins the first night, but it got less v quickly.

Thanks, put ds down without it tonight, had to go in 3times and a bit of crying but not too bad..seems a bit too good to be true, maybe he is saving the worst for 4am hehe
