DD is 6, and she has reached that stage where she argues the toss about everything. She has to be told everything 3 times before she will do as she is asked and there is always a reason she will do 'it' after/in a minute/later etc etc.

Getting ready for bed this evening I asked her to get her body lotion from her basket and she rummaged through everything, making a total mess and when I asked her why, I just got a lame excuse and no show of a sorry whatsoever.

Still arguing with me when in her room-this time a small box was stopping her do as she was told. There she was hands on hips shouting from the top of the stairs and I just saw red and bellowed at her to get into bed.

She stopped in her tracks and was sobbing-I think I gave her a shake up as although I am direct and straightforward I never lose my temper like that normally.

Don't really know what I am asking, I suppose I just needed to vent. She has a way of making me feel bad even though I know I am right and she has been pushing her luck for the past few hours.

Please tell me it's normal to blow a gasket at least once in a while!

Keep the lotion in the bathroom and do it straight after the bath
there's not many a six yr old who'd care about body lotion
mine certainly wouldn't Grin

Should also add she can be trying, attitude wise most of the time recently yet a completely different child when with Dad.

Bigchris-I see what you mean but tbh if it's not one thing it's another. Always making a big deal out of everything and objecting whenever the fancy takes her
