My 2year old was a great sleeper and mostly wel behaved but this since friday ish it has all gone pear shapped.

Just over a week ago we took the sides off the cot and all seemed fine - no getting out nothing but suddenly he has started hgetting out, screaming, being naughty in the day, waking early, wants us to sit with him till he falls asleep...

in the day he is pushing all the boundaries and misbehaving.

Pleae please tell me it is just him seeing how far he can push us and it will all get better if we stay consistent.
Am so concerned that this waking early and us sitting with him till he falls asleep will jsut carry on and on and become a habit and not jsut to get him thorugh this phase - - - he is teeting too by the way.

advice?expereinec?

oh no i know he isnt trying to piss us off and I am all for comfort but I am worried that he will become reliant on us staying with him till he falls alseep.

He used to sleep so well and get back to sleep on his own.

And then the misbehaving in the day...
it has jsut ALL come at once and I cant help thinking it is related to the bed change and now how do we get back to our wonderful sleeping routine??

I am cruel. Both mine were in grobags and cots with sides until they were 3. No escape. I found they were more able to understand instructions about staying put when they were a bit older.

Oliver - tell me more please please give me hope!!!

I guess ideally we would have put him back in the cot but we are off on vaction soon and not sure of the state of teh travel cot the place is providing so thought it would be better to have him sleeping in a bed by then....
now we have come this far it seems we cant go back ...

Grow bag is a great idea you can also get blow up bumpers to go under the sheet, these might make him feel more secure and you can travel with these as you just blow them up.

blow up bumpers ? where from?

I dunno though - he is quite an adverturer.Very stubborn and wilful.

Now he knows he can get out....

We did switch him to the duvet month sbefore the sides cam eoff the cot. he has the gro - duvets so he is zipped in but that doesnt seem to do him much good.....

I am hoping so much that once these teeth are through and he feel sbetter he will sleep through again and we can all be happier...

he is also on movicol for constipation since he was about 8 months old and in the last few months he has been going regularly and without complaint but all those problems are back now - hasnt been for days and is in pain ....

All at once!!
