Really...are ALL 6 year old girls MASSIVE drama queens or just some? I m SICK of hearing DD shriek "Ooooohhhhh NOOOOOO!" in this LOUD, tragic voice evry time some tiny thing goes wrong....ie. she has coloured out of the lines or dropped her glitter pot....

She completely overreacts to tiny things ALL DAY!

Is this normal? I start the day off all patient....saying things like "If there is a problem come to me and tell me and I will help" which then turns into "WHAT NOW!?" t the 5th shriek of the day....before finally turning into SHUUUT UUUP! when like now I can no longer bear it.

I do spend time wiith her...help her craft and draw which she loves...but this is making me MAD!

What happens if you model the behaviour you would like from her? eg:
DD - "shriek, scream Oh no I've coloured out of the lines again."
Mumbling - "Actually - all you need to say is 'Ooops - that went a bit wrong'"
or what ever
Then restate this type of thing every time you get the drama queen reaction, but make sure you also pay attention to her (equally calmly) if and when she does manage a quieter response!

It's normal. Chill out
