Daytime naps

Hi, my 8.5 month old daughter has always been a pretty good sleep and up until about a week ago had been sleeping 12 hrs at night, half an hour in the morning and 2hrs after her lunch. However, the last week she has been screaming when I put her down for her daytime naps. I've tried everything I can think of and she is obviously tired as if I try to breastfeed her she's asleep as soon as she latches on (without drinking) but then wakes up and screams when I unlatch her and try and put her down! Her nightime sleep is still pretty good, although she has woken at 5am a couple of mornings, then I've fed her and she's gone back to sleep. Any suggestions?

No suggestions but just to say my 8month DD went a bit weird with daytime sleeps (no longer than 20mins, max 3 times a day with MASSIVE screaming in between!) a few weeks ago so I feel your pain. After much hand-wringing, I put it down to teething as she eventually went back to 'normal' and got two teeth in the process. She's still a bit unpredictable but she now seems to be in a bit more of a pattern of doing 35-40mins in the morning in her cot, 1.5hrs - 2hrs over lunch in her cot, and about 20mins in the afternoon in her buggy.

Lunchtime sleeping is a disaster if we're out and about though. Only 20mins max in the buggy and general grumpiness once she's woken up because she's so damned tired.

Anyway, my point is, that I reckon it's a phase. Which is extremely unhelpful of me, sorry.
