Hi all,
Wondered if anyone has any experience of an 8mth old being tricky with both solid food and bottles? My DD has recently been fussing over her afternoon (3ish - 6oz) and bedtime (6.40ish - 8oz) bottles of milk, and has also been very fussy over her lunch food (around 11.45). Morning bottle (7.30ish - 6oz) and breakfast (readybrek with fruit puree) seem to go down OK, as does even meal (5ish - usually just veggie puree).
She will usually happily eat her lunchtime pudding (plain yogurt mixed with fruit puree) but the last few days she has been really fussy with her 'main course' when she was previously taking it well. She had a few days of eating readymade lunches (plum organc pots) which she seemed OK with but after some mammoth cooking sessions I am now giving her homemade stuff again and she doesn't seem as keen. Not sure if it's the food itself that she's fussing over or just the concept of eating, if that makes sense?! Also she sometimes eats better from a grown up metal spoon rather than her baby soft plastic one - is that just her being stubborn?!
Could this be teething? Or could it be a cold - she has no discernible snot or anything but has been coughing and sneezing at night-time a fair bit, and both me and DH have had horrible colds in the past couple of weeks. DD seemed not to have picked these up from us but maybe I am wrong.
I've had to give her calpol at lunchtime for the past few days as she's just worked herself up so much. It's meant she's had brilliant lunchtime sleeps (usually put her down around 12.15 in the hope she'll have up to a couple of hours) but I don't feel comfortable doing the calpol thing regularly and don't want to be 'drugging' her to get her to sleep! But she did seem to need it to calm down.
Sorry this is long and rambly... Any thoughts?
