Hi I am very worried about my dd2 at the moment. She is making faces, grimacing, rolling her eyes but she doesnt seem to know shes doing it and sometimes noises but not typical tics because they dont carry on and on and arent all the same. I am so worried she had something similar and it went after a month or so and has now returned. she did have a cold and sore throat recently. I have read about sydenham chorea that it can cause similar symptoms went to doctor but he looked in her eyes and said she was ok.............has anyone experienced this.....help

I dont know what sydenham chorea is but have had personal experience with seizure behaviour in my child and it sounds similar to some descriptions of epilepsy, maybe wests, have a look in to it.

Epilepsy is difficult to diagnose anyway, but with eye rolling etc sounds very similar, best thing u can do, what i was advised to do with my 1 yr old DD, is to record it, its very hard to catch, but try keeping your mobile phone handy or camera to record, and try to film it, then u can show exactly what u r seeing to specialist and they can make an accurate diagnosis.

is she under any stress?

could it be a habit?

Im not sure it happend in January and lasted about a month.........it coincided with a sore throat and the same this time but I might be reading to much into it. Last time she had got rabbits (excited) this time she had to work hard with her assembley but didnt appear to be stressed........and its like shes buzzing sometimes when shes sitting still?
