How do you deal with the situation when one of your children says that their sibling did/ said something naughty to them whilst you were in another room?

If there's no proof either way, we have a group chat about why X behaviour is bad and what happens if mom catches you at it. Also, for older children we have a chat about the nuisance of Telling Tales and the virtues of working out your own problems without bothering mom with them!

depending on how old and gullible your children are ( my dd is extreamly gullible!!) we tell our dd that there is actually a secret camera in the room and we can go and watch the tape to see what really happened....she will usually come clean and tell the truth before we get the tape!!! she is 6 now so im guessing this wont last much longer but I have to hide my sniggering everytime it does!!
