I NEED TO SLEEP ARRGHHH!!!!!

Can anyone help me. My 6 month old just will not sleep through the night. He is up constantly from 3 like clockwork every night and will only go back to sleep if given a bottle. He cannot possibly need a feed during the night as he has 3 good sized meals a day and between 4 and 5 8oz bottles. He does have a dummy which I know causes problems when it falls out but worth it to avoid the screaming! At the moment he still sleeps in with us as the extension to house his room is not yet built. He is a big boy though (in sized 9-12 months clothes already...) but surely this doesn't really make a difference. Any ideas would be gratefully received as I go back to work in 4 weeks and would like it sussed by then.

I was in the same position as you. Until 3 nights ago when my 9 month old FINALLY SLEPT 7 til7!!! and has done since.
She was breastfed through the night and co-sleeping, it was very hard none of us was getting any sleep. waking 1am 3 am 5am. So just before I totally lost it i finally pulled it together and put into practice what I knew I should have been doing from 5 months. I opened TEACH YOURSELF BABY SLEEP and DID exactly what they suggested. My partner helped me which was the main reason for success.
It works. It works it works. and no I don't work for them, I got the book off ebay. But I can help you by giving you what we did as it sounds like the same suck to sleep problem.

I also had this issue when my ds was 6 months old. I cut out all night feeds and only offered water when he woke up. It was a very hard couple of nights while he expressed his outrage at the change but on the third night he slept through and has done since (pretty much!) so it was worth it. Good luck.

They are still quite little (even if big ikywim) at 6 months.

I would get it down/keep it at one wake up, then if he isn't sleeping through at 12 months do some CC. One wake up isn't so bad and is sort of realistic at this age. They do actually need quite a lot of milk still until they are at least one..... it will end eventually promise......
