Fed up with constant negotiation & arguing

DD is 12 nearly 13

She has had a rough year

Can I just tell her what needs to be done, what will happen if she doesn't & walk away?

I am so fed up with the constant 'if I do that will you?' & 'it's not fair' & 'why do I have to do that for you?' ect

Can I just say it & walk away? I don't want to nag all the time - I am too tired

Yes you can tell her what to, what the consequences are for non-compliance and walk away.

She's just pushing boundaries - wait and see what she's like in a years time..........

So fed up - this house is not a democracy

Seems reasonable therefore she will either not get it or ignore me

This is going on in our house and we have 3 of the little darlings full of their own self importance. We find that limiting pocket money makes an impression for a wee while!

Pocket money is part of it - we spend a ridiculous amount on her
£2 cash, £2 guides, £1.50 Drumming, 40p a day extra on lunch money, £4 dancing (never mind comps) plus singing lessons

No wonder we are broke

I am quite hard on Dd2[15], she pushes it all the time. If she bargains with me I reduce what I offered in the first place, ie.
Dd2... can I have £5 pls.
Me... No I haven't got £5 you can have £3.
Dd2... its not fair everyone else has got £5.
Me.... Ok you can have £2.50.
you get the picture. It works with things like coming home, time out and extra jobs too.[hgrin][hgrin]. She's an itelligent girl, she soon gets the message. It doesn't stop her trying again though.LOL.
