Is this an indication DS may be left handed?

It is probably really early to say as ds is only 12 weeks old, but recently he has started grabbing his toys on the playgym and gripping your clothes when you hold him etc...but only with his left hand. His right hand is currently still reaching for things.

I was just wondering if anyone else noticed their dc prefering a certain hand and then becoming left or right handed.

Btw I am left handed and dh is right handed so there are currently bets going on in the household regarding this [hgrin] loser is consigned to changing the cat litter for a year!

No indication whatsoever DS did the same and he's now right handed..... they use both hands for a very long time - as I remember until DS was approaching 1 he used both and then gradually began to favour one side.

DD did this at round about the same age and now at coming up to three she is absolutely and totally left handed. Three quarters of the family are left handed though so no surprise!

DD is 6 months old and i have noticed that the hand she favours changes over a period of a few weeks. At the moment she is using her right hand alot but a few weeks ago she was grabbing everything with her left.

I have a theory that she uses the hand that she has most motor control of at that point which of course changes as she grows.

Another vote for too early to tell.

I don't think they settle on handedness till after they're a year old.
