Separation anxiety at 13 months?

rubyslippers · 23/10/2010 19:39

DD is nearly 13 months old

Generally goes to bed and down for her nap well for me and her nanny

The last couple of nights she has been very unsettled - she also fell asleep in my arms for her post lunch nap today which is unusual

Tonight I had to stay in her room whilst she settled ...

She has got a runny nose, but no fever and she is teething which may explain why she needs some extra reassurance?

Do they also get separation anxiety at this age?

Thanks

They always want more cuddles when poorly but yes separation anxiety has started with mine now and she is 11 months. Usually fine but now not.

defnitely. I went back to work when DS was 13 months and it was the worse possible time in hindsight and really threw him off for a bit. We had disturbed nights and general unhappiness for about a month but it seems to be calming down now though he still is distraught when dropped off at the CM. Am now pg with DC2 and am planning to go back much much earlier!
As for solutions, I suppose we rocked him to sleep a bit more, made sure he had a familiar toy and even resorted to letting him sleep with us once or twice (not a co sleeping fan generally) but needed to sleep ourselves!

Thank you for the messages

She seems a bit less uneasy when going to sleep but she is a total boob monster again so something isn't quite right with her and it is probably a combination of her age, illness, teething etc

Ah well ...
