Hi all im new here, didnt know where to post but i guessed here because my little girl is servierly globally delayed.
here's our story...

she is 18 months old now, She is my 3rd child so instinctivly i knew when she was born that their was something not right with her. She as normal was having cows milk and normal baby milk and when she was 5 months old i began weening her. She was always a very sicky baby, but i mean projectile vomitting after every bottle of milk and after every meal, i went to the gp but they said it was probably reflux, they gave her some baby gaviscone which didnt work, but as usual drs basically said i was being paranoid. Then the health visitor came out when she was 7 months and baby had lost a significant amount of weight, hv was concerned but said to wait for 2 weeks then she will weigh her again..2 weeks later hv came and baby lost even more weight and she seemed like she was ill, hv told me 2 take her back to the dr, i did and the dr looked at her weights and said come back in 2 weeks and we will weigh her and see what is going on. but i couldnt go back as i was moving to a different area.. social services became involved and forced me to take all 3 of my children to see a peadritian that day! the peadritian checked baby out and said her weight loss etc was down to parental neglect and said lack of nutrition, basically saying we were starving her!! my 3 kids got put on child protection under the category of neglect and are still on it now. i never could understand that after a 10 min visit to a dr cud diagnose baby as being neglected by us! obviously i spat my dummy out and my new hv refered her to see a dietition, also baby had blood tests done etc..the dietition put baby on a dairy free diet and told me to take her back in 3 months.. well the dairy free diet has done some good, baby is now more alert, happy and developing well, not only that but the sickness has stopped! the dietition has told me baby is allergic to cows milk and must avoid it at all costs. but social services wont listen to me or the dietition when we both say the reason for baby being under developed is because she didnt have a very good start in life and she would not have had the energy to develop as she was not getting the significant amount of neutrients etc that she needed.. baby is on soya milk prescribed from the dietition also calorie powder, she only eats foods that does not contain milk, cream, cheese etc. she has soya everything, this costs us more in our daily shopping bills and we have to make all her meals seperate also we have to supervise her meal times all the time making sure my other 2 children do not give her dairy..baby has also had blood test done which came back normal untill a new dr who we demanded to see her has done a deep array test and has found she has an unknown genetic abnormality in her chromazones so me and babys dad have had to have blood tests done to see if we have the same, the dr said if we dont then this will be one of the reasons for her delays. but again we still do not get an appology from social services or the previous dr who accused us of starving and neglecting the baby.

they are still on child protection and have a review in december but this gives me a good case to sue the nhs and social services for all the destress they have put on our family. but i still very much doubt i will ever get an appology!

i forgot to mention, she was 16 months old when she first seen the dietition so it took them long enough to refer her!

You might get more educated responses on the special needs board....some of the people there have a lot of eperience with stories like yours.

It all sounds horrendous and I am glad things are getting sorted out now... in December I am sure the children will be removed from the register and you should get some proper help.
