Biting 10 month old

My DS has started sinking his teeth in to me whenever he gets the opportunity. It seems to be 'affection as most often it is when he is giving 'kisses'. He doesn't do it to anyone else other than his dad very occasionally. I tell him in a stern voice 'no biting' and put him down and turn my back on him. But he smiles a beaming smile every time I say 'no biting'.
Does anyone have any experience with this and ideas for dealing with it? Thanks

My ds was exactly the same. Only in love or excitement, but blimey it could hurt. He only ever did it to me or DP. He was in nursery at the time and it never spilt over, he never bit anyone there just us. Basically we did the same, a firm "No" and put him down. I don't know if he "got" it one day, or just grew out of it, it just stopped.

Needless to say he doesn't do it anymore (he's 4). Just carry on as you are, I reckon.

Thanks, it's good to know others have experienced the same and got through it. Thinking about it, excitement is the other time he does it. I will keep going. Thanks again x

We are in the same boat, exactly the same circs, right down to the big beamy smile as I say 'no' in my sternest voice and put her down. Good to know I'm not alone! DD is almost 10 months.
