Growth spurts, when and what signs?

My DD is 5 weeks and for the last 2 days has been really fussy, not nessecarily eating more but she is eating more often an will not sleep! I am currently suffering with a dead arm as the only way i can get her to sleep is rocking her in her pram.

Was wondering if she could be going through a growth spurt?? What signs did everyone notice when their DC's went through this?

DD is now 4 and I always know she's going through a growth spurt because she eats more, to the extent where she'll start crying in bed because she's hungry (I get her up and feed her, obviously, once I've realised it's not just a ploy to get out of bed).
