My 5 month old wakes screaming like he's on fire. Anyone else had this?

Just hoping to pick some brains here. Our 5 month old has in the last few weeks started waking up at night screaming. It's a horrific blood curdling scream that seems totally uncalled for. We always have gone to him and have never let him cry. He's apparently healthy. Anyone got any thoughts as to what might be going on in his (lovely) little head? It's quite upsetting.

sorry to hear your lo is so unsettled. It's probably an obvious question but have you ruled out colic or potential bladder infection? Have you already started him on solids? maybe he's got an intolerance? DS didn't fare so well on 'normal' milk but was fine with goats milk, hence the thought occured to me :)
