2.5yo putting fingers down throat to make herself gag... for fun

I am not sure how to handle this. She's doing it over and over this afternoon. I'm trying to ignore as she just grins when I tell her not to (which was my previous tactic) and does it again.

Is it best to ignore or should I start stopping her?

I'm 9wks pg and feeling very nauseous myself so it's really not helping my sicky feelings (though I haven't gagged or been sick so she's not imitating anything she's seen).

Yuk! mine used to do this too although she was a bit younger, more like 18 mo.

Ignoring always works best in my book - and she probably won't enjoy winding you up quite so much once her throat starts to sting. You have to practice though - keep a totally straight face and act like nothing at all has happened!

Also I found that distraction worked well at that age - totally ignore the annoying behaviour, then say "Oh look at this (random fascinating object/creepy crawly bug on the window/etc)".

Hope you feel better soon.
